MINNESOTA BOXING NEWS: BONSANTE, LITZAU, TRUAX

Anthony “The Bullet” Bonsante’s training camp is in full swing and he is exactly 1 month away from stepping on the scales for his January 23rd bout versus Luis Ramon “Yori Boy” Campas (105-17-3, 81 KO’s) in Butte, Montana. Bonsante (34-12-3, 18 KO’s) has been seen at a few different gyms around the cities (pictured above at Minnesota Top Team). The meeting between he and Campas will be the final bout for both fighters and will either be shown on television or on the internet at www.gfl.tv. Bonsante is 45 years young and Campas is one year behind at 44.

“Golden” Caleb Truax (25-2-2, 15 KO’s) is scheduled to headline at the Black Bear Casino in Carlton, MN on February 20th, 2016. No other bout has been finalized on the show at this time. It will be Truax’s return fight following his hard fought World Title challenge against Daniel Jacobs last April.

Former NABF Lightweight champion Jason Litzau (29-3-1, 22 KO’s) is training hard in hopes of a January ring return, which would most likely be on a card out of state. No fight is set but “The American Boy” appears to be on track both in and out of the ring to have a dominant 2016. Litzau’s main training headquarters has been at the White Bear Boxing gym (see photo above). Most recently, Litzau fought to a controversial draw to Hylon Williams last August after a 3 year ring absence. Litzau appeared to clearly win that bout in the eyes of most observers.
