JAMES TAKES CENTER STAGE AS TRUAX FIGHT OFF

Jamal “Shango” James (17-0, 9 KO’s) of Minneapolis is set for the biggest fight date of his pro career as he faces heavy punching Juan Carlos Abreu (17-1-1, 16 KO’s) of the Dominican Republic this Friday night. James versus Abreu was set to be the other televised bout to the main event which was going to feature Osseo’s “Golden” Caleb Truax (25-2-2, 15 KO’s) against Maryland’s Fernando Guerrero (27-3, 19 KO’s). This was set to be one of the biggest road weekends I can think of in terms of Minnesota Boxing. Two Minnesota boxers being featured on the road, National TV on hand, in bouts each had a good chance of winning. That was until a mix up with pre-fight medicals yesterday forced the Truax-Guerrero bout to be called off.
More details will come after everything is sorted out but I can tell you that Truax had a full training camp and left last Wednesday to Florida under the impression that all medicals and everything involved in making Friday nights fight a go were taken care of. Truax says he is extremely frustrated with the situation but also says that he was told he will be put in another high profile fight as soon as everything is cleared, which should be soon.

It is doubtful a last day opponent will be found for Guerrero so the most likely scenario will be that Minnesotan Jamal James will have his fight moved to the main event slot.

The fight will be televised on Bounce TV. Bounce TV is available to anyone by unplugging your cable box and hooking up an antenna to view on free TV. The fight can also be seen live online at
