BOXERS WEIGH IN AT CANTERBURY PARK FOR SATURDAYS MECCA XVIII

Fighters featured on this Saturday night’s Mecca XVIII professional boxing show presented by Ignite Fights have hit the scales. The boxing action kicks off at approximately 7-8 PM CST at the Canterbury Park Event Center in Shakopee, MN following Muay Thai bouts. There will be 13 Muay Thai bouts which begin at 5 PM.

The heavyweight main event bout featuring Colton Warner (3-1) and Anthony Garrett (1-0) is a go after both men showed up fit and ready. Warner, of Apple Valley, MN weighted 259.6 while Anthony Garrett of Kansas weight 274.2. Both boxers are extremely confident heading into tomorrow night’s main event. Warner will be boxing in his first professional headliner and expects to help pack the house.

“I’m very excited for my fight tomorrow” Warner told Minnesotaboxing.com. “It’s my first time being the main event as a professional. I know that I am going to have a lot of support there and I cannot wait to put on a show for them. I’ve done all the hard work in training camp, I’m in the best shape of my life and I’m ready for anything that Anthony Garrett brings. This fight will not go the distance.”

Rivals Danny Huffman (6-1-1) of Duluth, MN and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota’s Damion Hill (4-14) were cordial and classy as both made weight. Huffman came in at 153.4 while Hill hit the contracted weight of 154 on the dot.

Corey Thompson (3-0) was four pounds over the contracted weight of 175, coming in at 179 while Blake Bergeson (debut) was 174.6. Thompson made weight on his second attempt.

Amy Lemenager (2-0) of Duluth, Mn was 11 pounds over 165 pounds, coming in at 176. Kate Lavigne (1-1) of Kansas came in slightly under the contracted weight at 165.2. This fight is off due to Lemenager missing weight.

Dennys Reyes (3-1) of Fridley, MN weighed 236.2 and Thomas Matlon (1-1) weighed 270.6 for the pairs anticipated heavyweight bout.

Gavin Hedrickson (1-0) of Richfield, MN weighed 160.8 while Alex Citrowske (1-0) of Coon Rapids, MN weighed-in at 159.8 for the 160 pound match-up.

Ashkan Morvari (debut) of Eagan, MN came in at 160.2 pounds while Richard Smith (0-4) of Missouri weighed a few pounds less at 157.4.

Both Robbie Loyde (1-0) of Minneapolis, MN and Sam Hernandez (0-1) of Mankato, MN weighed 156.6 pounds.

Fridley, Minnesota’s Josh Clark and North Dakota’s Roman Cruz weighed-in at 140.4 pounds for the opening bout of the evening.
