SONA AKALE HEADLINES PRO BOXING AT ELEMENT GYM THIS SATURDAY
Exciting Saint Paul jr. middleweight Sona “Slink Proper” Akale (5-0, 4 KO’s) headlines a pro boxing show at Element Gym in Saint Paul, MN this Saturday night. Big Q Promotions will present the action. Two more pro bouts are set along with a solid exhibition bout
Akale is well known for his vocals as a rap artist out of the ring but has impressed with his talent in the ring and power behind his punches. Akale will headline against Jacksonville, Florida’s Andre Byrd (8-12, 1 KO). Byrd has strictly faced up and coming prospects mostly going the distance and upsetting some along the way. This will be a good test for Akale.
Akale weighed in yesterday afternoon at 153 pounds while Byrd weighed 152.
local powerhouse kickboxer Thomas Jenkins makes his pro debut against Tim Haley (0-1) of Milwaukee, WI. Jenkins weighed 191.6 while Haley was heavier at 197.
Saint Paul, MN’s Tremiere Hollie makes his debut against Watertown, SD fighter Zach Hill. Hollie’s weight was 143.8 and Hill came in at 144.8 also.
Local featherweight/lightweights Gavino Guaman and Davonzell Patterson will box in an exhibition after opponents fell through for both boxers late.
Patterson’s opponent Manuel Valdez tested positive for Covid and Guaman’s opponent did not submit all of the needed paperwork. This could be a bar burner despite not counting in the official record books.
