RONDALE HUBBERT FLOORS ORTIZ IN POINTS LOSS

Rondale Hubbert (13-19-3, 8 KOs) of Minneapolis, MN lost a 6-round decision on Saturday night to Joshafat Ortiz (8-0, 4 KO’s) of Reading, PA in a super featherweight bout. Hubbert says that he dropped Ortiz in the first and spent the rest of the bout chasing after a knockout finish.

“It was a good fight,” said Hubbert. “I feel like I landed the harder shots and dropped him with a right in the first, hurting my hand in the process. The rest of the fight was him trying to use the ring and jab. He landed a couple good jabs, but I don’t understand how he won by running from me for five rounds. Other than that, it was another game of cat and mouse. I was sure I would catch him again, so I was looking for that big punch. There was a lot of trash talk and unsportsmanlike conduct (laughing), but it was a fun fight. I had me winning so it just sucks to let that one slip away from me.”
