MIKE RICHMAN KNOCKS OUT ERICK LOZANO IN BKFC RETURN ON FRIDAY NIGHT

Mike ‘The Marine’ Richman (6-2, BKFC) knocked out Erick ‘El Travieso’ Lozano (2-3 BKFC) on Friday night at Bert’s Barracuda Harley-Davidson in Clearwater, Florida. The main event light heavyweight bout was Richman’s return bout after 9 months out of action. Richman showed toughness and power in his return.

Richman scored nicely in the opening round behind a hard jab and his signature straight left out of the southpaw stance. Richman cut Lozano under his left eye with a left hand punch early on. Lozano was bleeding and swollen midway through the first round.

Richman continued to move forward in round two, stunning Lozano with a body shot early. The two exchanged in the center of the ring for much of the round until Richman hurt Lozano with a headshot with 15 seconds remaining.

Both fighters slowed a bit in rounds 3 and 4 allowing Richman to simply outbox Lozano with combinations and the harder punches.

Richman staggered Lozano with a right hook in round five and a left hook to the jaw moments later that put Lozano down for the count of 10 which ended the bout. Richman is back triumphantly with the stoppage victory at :53 into round 5 against a tough and willing opponent.

“I feel great” Richman said afterwards.” I knew it was going to be a challenging fight but I know I can still hit hard. “I still have a few fights left”!
