IGNITE LIVES UP TO NAME WITH MEGA SHOW AT CANTERBURY PARK THIS WEEKEND (MUAY THAI PREVIEW)

IGNITE (formerly Driller Promotions) returns to Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN this weekend with an explosive two-day combat sports event. The Muay Thai action begins at 1 PM on Saturday with the boxing portion set to begin at 6 PM later that night. Ignite will also showcase high level jiu jitsu grand prix matches at the same Canterbury Expo Center on Friday, December 3rd. Tickets for “MECCA XVII” can be purchased HERE. If attending the show in person is not an option, you can visit www.MMAFUTURES.COM to catch the action streamed live!

There are 16 Muay Thai bouts scheduled with the main event being a 159 pound showdown between Reggie Ledford (17-7) against Cody Johnson (9-2). Matchmaker Kaitlin Young put together another knockout Muay Thai line-up and broke down a few of potentially amazing fights that will be showcased.

Both Cody Johnson and Reggie Ledford have are powerful athletes and have an incredibly high-paced style. Expect fireworks in that match up.

Expect Brody Martin and Joe Wawryzneicki to be a fan favorite. They’re skilled, tough as nails, and both trained hard and still competed throughout the pandemic. Both guys are in their late 20’s and really coming into their own as fighters.

Mike Selle vs Loca Herr will be a fun fight. Selle is a much lankier fighter, but Loca has spent time competing on the international level under K1 rules. Will his volume and output be enough to overcome Selle’s reach advantage? We shall see.

Josh Lai just moved to Minneapolis from Des Moines, where he competed frequently. He brings a lot of experience to this bout. Jamel Long is a relatively newer fighter but has been on a tear since he began competing. Will Lai be able to use his experience to put a stop to Long’s undefeated streak?
