GAVINO GUAMAN SET FOR “THROWBACK” STYLE FIGHT TONIGHT VERSUS HECTOR HERRERA

Minnesota based lightweight Gavino “Huesitos” Guaman (6 wins – 5 losses – 1 KO, 2 KO’s) of Columbia returns tonight at the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Fight fans are expecting an all action fight when the ultra-tough Guaman faces equally exciting boxer Hector Herrera (8-6-1, 5 KO’s) of Nicaragua in a six round super featherweight bout. Last time out, Guaman gave prospect David Navarro (now 5-1) of California a good test on March 11 of 2022 on a Showtime televised undercard while losing by decision.

Guaman, who trains at Apple Valley, Minnesota’s CMB Boxing gym, weighed in last night at 133.4 pounds while Herrera came in at 130 pounds.

Promoter and former boxer out of Illinois Skyler Thompson of International Boxing Promotions is excited for what he calls a throwback style fight between two tough boxers looking to set up bigger opportunities with a victory. With friends, family, and fans set to tune in from both Nicaragua and Columbia, Thompson purchased the two fighters flags from their home countries to display with pride as they enter the ring.

“There should be a rematch clause in this fight”! Exclaimed Thompson to MinnesotaBoxing.com as he prepared for fight night. “Two tough Latino fighters from third world countries. Fighters like this come to the US from dangerous, hard lives and poverty. They are here for a reason and don’t want to take a loss in these situations. It’s about pride and this is a special fight. Can Guaman deal with the slick boxing of Herrera? Can Hererra deal with the pressure and power of Guaman? We will find out. This is a throwback, Gatti-Ward 2 type of fight. The type of fight fans deserve to see on these shows”

Wisconsin state middleweight champion Mark Daniels Jr. (7-1) defends his title in the main event against Benjamin Zelfer. You can read the full story HERE.
