BOXING STAR DAVID MORRELL JR TO THROW FIRST PITCH AT TWINS GAME WITH POTENTIAL SUPER FIGHT AGAINST DAVID BENAVIDEZ IN THE WORKS

Boxing reports have hit the press hard today that point to Minneapolis based WBA ‘regular’ super middleweight champion David Morrell Jr. (9-0, 8 KO’s) having secured a showdown with WBC interim super middleweight champion David Benavidez (27-0, 23 KO’s). The winner of Morrell Jr. vs Benavidez would most likely be match up in a super fight against World Champion Canelo Alvarez next.

Morrell has looked absolutely destructive with recent victories over Yamaguchi Falcao and Aidos Yerbossynuly. Benavidez defeated Caleb Plant last March and has faced the better opposition so far. Both men have vicious power but Morrell appears to have the better skills to go along with his dynamite fists. The rumored fight between Morrell and Benavidez would reportedly take place in October.

Robb Leer of Leer Communication spoke with the 24 year old Morrell’s camp earlier today and told us that those reports are still best guesses and that the fight has not been finalized.

Morrell Jr. will be back a week from Monday, on June 19th, 2023, to throw out the first pitch at the Minnesota Twins versus Boston Redsox baseball game at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Ball game begins at 6:40 CST and tickets can be purchased HERE.
