BOXING: ALFARO PICKS UP TWO WINS IN MEXICO

Minnesota State Jr. Featherweight Champion Vicente Alfaro (10-4, 3 KO’s) of Northfield, Minnesota picked up two wins in Mexico last month. Alfaro stopped Noe Ramirez (12-9) in Chiapas, Mexico on May 6th by TKO at 2:50 of the fourth round. He followed up that victory with an eight round unanimous decision win over Octavio Ocampo (9-8) in Chiapas, Mexico. Scores in that bout were 77-75 on all three cards. Alfaro, who was born in Mexico City, Mexico, weighed in at 114.75 for both bouts.
Alfaro is back in Northfield and says he has shifted his focus to the flyweight and bantamweight divisions where he is currently rated among the top in the US.

My team’s plan is to keep me actively boxing rather than sitting without fights” said Alfaro. “I was able to box two fights in less than two weeks. The second fight was tough having gone eight rounds. I am hoping to fight on a local show soon. I want to thank my Team, job, family and friends for allowing me this opportunity.”
