UNDEFEATED LUIS ARIAS HEADLINES JUNE 4 MILWAUKEE SHOW

Undefeated, rising middleweight prospect Luis “Cuba” Arias (14-0, 6 KO’s) is set to headline in 10492452_833991966692606_5316652316229869790_nhis hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 4, 2016 at the Wisconsin Center. Locally based Promotional company Seconds Out has put together the show which also features Brooklyn Park, Minnesota cruiserweight Mengistu Zarzar (5-0, 4 KO’s).

Arias, who signed with Roc Nation Sports in 2015, was a highly decorated amateur boxer who has continued to make a name for himself as a pro while working alongside esteemed trainer John David Jackson.  While many prospects begin there boxing careers fighting at home, Arias has boxed on big shows all over the country without the opportunity to fight in his home city.  That changes on June 4 and Arias couldn’t be happier to be fighting in front of the people that he says have been behind him from the start.

“Coming back to fight at home is every fighter’s dream” said the 25 year-old Arias.  “I’m excited and blessed to have the opportunity to fight at home.  I started my pro career in Vegas, and I never knew when I would come to fight in Milwaukee.  My city has always supported me, and I can’t wait to put on a great show for in front of my biggest fans and supporters.  The atmosphere will be electric.”

Arias will face 24 year-old Jorge “Pantera” Silva (21-10-2, 17 KO’s) of Tijuana, Mexico in the night’s main event which is scheduled for 10 rounds.  Silva is an exciting and gutsy fighter that is known for his durability and willingness to fight against tough opposition.  He says that he is eager to win and, like Arias, is coming to put on a show.

“Silva is an experienced guy for being so young,” said Arias when asked to talk about Silva.  “He has a lot of rounds in him and he comes to fight no matter where the fight is.  I hope he is ready to throw down, because I am.  Even though he has twice as many fights as me, I gained a lot of experience in the fights that I’ve had.  I’ve gone the rounds with tough opposition, and there isn’t anything that he can bring to the table that I haven’t seen before.  I’m ready for anything.  I will bring too much to the table come fight night and he will not be able to deal with all my tools.  I’ll break him down nicely and get him out of there as soon as I can.”

Fighting in the co-featured bout will be former world title challenger Marcus Oliveira (26-2-1, 21 KO’s) of Keshena, Wisconsin.  The power-punching Oliveira will face 24 year old Cuban born Ramon Luis Nicholas (7-2, 5 KO’s) in an eight-round light heavyweight contest.

Also on the card will be Estonian welterweight Stan Martyniouk (15-2, 3 KO’s) of San Carlos, California who faces tough journeyman Gilbert Venegas Sr. (13-21-4, 8 KO’s) of East Moline, Illinois in an eight-round bout.

Other action will see Mengistu Zarzar (5-0, 4 KO’s) of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and Julian Poole (1-0, 1 KO) of Milwaukee will battle in a four-round cruiserweight bout.

Rounding out the show will be Milwaukee natives Andre Sherard (3-1, 2 KO’s), Angelo Buchanan (3-0, 1 KO) and Adrian Martinez (3-0-1, 2 KO’s) facing opponents to be announced and former Olympic hopeful Cruse Steward of Cedar Rapids, Iowa making his professional debut against an opponent to be determined.

The event is being promoted by Seconds Out Promotions.  Tickets are priced at $30, $50, and $65 and can be purchased by visiting www.sofights.com or by calling (612) 770-0144.  Doors open at 6pm with the action beginning at 7pm.  The Wisconsin Center is located at 400 W.
