Terrence Walker and Cody Kerr Fight to Majority Draw in SD Thursday Night On BXNG TV

Terrence Walker (2-3-1, 1 KO) of Saint Paul, MN and Cody Kerr (3-2-1, 1 KO) of South Dakota fought to a six round majority draw on Thursday night at the District in Sioux Falls, SD tonight. Scores read 58-56 for Walker and 57-57 on the other two scorecards. 15throundpromotions presented the action which was streamed live on BXNG TV.

Walker invested in body shots early in the first and both men worked behind the jab before letting loose with combinations in an eventful and close opening round. It was a give and take chess match through the midway point with both boxers working to take the lead.

Minnesota referee Mark Nelson did not need to do much separating or breaking up of the fighters as most of the action took place center ring at a distance without clinches. Walker began coming forward more in rounds five and six, pressing the action and landing some nice, hard right hands to the head in the final minute of the fifth. He chased after Kerr on the offensive again in round six and Kerr despite a bloodied nose fired back nicely. Both Walker and Kerr traded to the bell in a fun closing to the fight. Hopefully Walker and Kerr get the chance to meet again in the future to settle the draw.

Walker took the fight on a weeks notice after Kerr’s original opponent fell through. The promotion says Walker fought very well on short notice and that they would like to run it back soon.
