MMA: HITMAN, ROCCO, AND CROCHET BOSS COMPETE IN UFC TONIGHT

Dan “The Hitman” Moret, Anthony Rocco Martin and Maurice “The Crochet Boss” Greene will represent Minnesota on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at UFC 146. The fights take place live at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. Moret will kick off the undercard action on ESPN Plus at 4 PM Central time. Martin and Greene’s fights will follow and will also be shown live. All three men hope that a win will earn them a spot at UFC’s return to Minnesota this summer.

Dan “The Hitman” Moret (13-4) of Mankato, MN is set to face Alex White (12-5) of Farmington, Missouri in a lightweight prelim bout. This will be Moret’s second time fighting for the UFC and will be at 155 pounds.

“My training camp was great working with the great team and coaching staff at the MMA Lab” said Moret. ” My opponent is a tough veteran who has a lot of fights in the UFC. He comes out hard and throws hard combinations and will be looking to strike. I’ve been able to learn from great coaches my whole career and the things I have learned from Greg Nelson in Minnesota translate to the new skills I’ve gotten from my training in Arizona. I will always be a student of Greg Nelson and train at The Academy and am proud to represent Minnesota inside the UFC.”

Welterweight Anthony Rocco Martin (15-4) fighting out of Florida (formerly Saint Cloud, MN) will battle Brazil’s Sergio Moraes (14-3-1) in the final prelim bout of the night. Martin is on a 3 fight win streak in the UFC heading into the fight.

Heavyweight Maurice Greene has stepped in on short notice to rematch Jeff Hughes in what looks to be fight number four on the show. Greene lost a 5 round hard-fought decision to Hughes at LFA 38 in Minneapolis last summer and will try turning the tables on Hughes tonight.
