41 year old Troy “TNT” Lowry (28-11, 15 KO’s) knocked out hometown hero Travis Loveless (20-1, 17 KO’s) out cold in the fifth round of a super middleweight bout (Lowry 164 lbs, Loveless 160 lbs) moments ago at the Joyce Center in South Bend, Indiana. Lowry, who was unable to put much of a training camp together due to work, was behind on the cards going in to the fifth but landed a crushing right hand to the head sending Loveless to the canvas and out at 1:32. Lowry sent word from Indiana that he hopes to face MN Middleweight champ “Golden” Caleb Truax next. Bob Arum promoted the boxing action.

Minneapolis heavyweight Boris Shishporenok (7-3) was stopped by James shorter (1-0) earlier on the card in the second round. Shishporenok’s trainer Ron Peterson said that Boris injured his arm before the stoppage.
