INJURY HALTS COLTON WARNER’S BOXING RETURN THIS SATURDAY

Heavyweight Colton Warner’s anticipated boxing return this weekend will have to wait. Warner was scheduled to box Chad Davis of Arizona next Saturday, September 9, 2023 in the OG Boxing promotions’ main event. Warner (6-1, 4 KO’s) was excited to face Davis in his opponents hometown. After making a connection with promoter Fidel Hernandez while in Arizona years ago when visiting a friend and training, the two recently linked up and signed the fight date. However, Warner will now get spine injections this Thursday as part of his recovery. Last time out, Warner scored a respectable statement making first round KO over tough Thomas Matlon in December of 2022 and planned to continue that momentum into the bout with Arizona’s Davis on Saturday.

“My last fight was in December, which isn’t ideal” Warner said frankly. “I wanted to be very active this year. I had three fight dates fall through this year already. My previous fight with Matlon went just how we thought it would. We trained for the knockout and wanted it early. My fight before that I was very unhappy with because I couldn’t throw hard right hands or left hooks due to breaking my ribs 5 weeks before. It was important to me to make a statement and to let my hands go.”

Warner told Minnesota Boxing that he has had back issues on and off in the past and is optimistic for a quick recovery. “I’ll be back in no time” said Warner with hope and disappointment.

Life has been busy for Warner, who had been training with local Terrance Walker and more along with his brother Hunter who is now in Italy playing pro hockey. Warner and wife, Alexis recently celebrated the birth of their fourth child, baby girl, Naomi Faith Warner. The exciting boxer also offers personal training both in the sweet science as well as fitness which he can be contacted by details below.
