Human Highlight Reel Jenkins On ESPN+ Tonight!

Brandon Jenkins, right hits 155 at last nights weigh-ins.

The “Human Highlight Reel” Brandon Jenkins competes tonight for MMA promotion PFL (Professional Fighters League). His prelim bout will be shown live on ESPN+ at 6:30 PM CST. The main card will be shown on ESPN 2. Formerly of Prior Lake, MN, Jenkins moved to Las Vegas 2.5 years ago where he trains with one of MMA’s best coaches in John Wood. He also works with former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir twice a week. Win, lose or draw, Jenkins has always brought a high flying balls to the wall style which captivates fans.

Although Jenkins only has one professional boxing match under his belt, the result was a big one, scoring an upset stoppage win over Charles Meier in 2015. Now the all action Jenkins is set to face former UFC fighter Jacob killburn (8-4) on a big stage. PFL is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season, and championship, rather than on a year-round basis. Jenkins talked to MinnesotaBoxing.com after a grueling sparring session two weeks ago with Carl Deaton who is also a former Minnesota mixed martial artist featured in the following bout on the show. Some of the UFC fighters Jenkins trains with include “The Monkey King” Jordan Leavitt, Sasha Palatnikov, Daniel Rodriguez, Norma Dumont and Jojo Calderwood. Jenkins feels like this fight is an early Christmas present and plans to make the most of the huge opportunity.

“I am fighting Jacob Killburn. He’s a slugger who’s got power in both hands and has slick jujitsu” said Jenkins. “I have 10 wins by knockout so I know we’re going to start off the night off with a bang! I’m excited to fight for PFL because potentially next season I could be in the same bracket with one of my childhood idols Anthony Pettis . I’ve always wanted to fight him. I’ve been pro for eight years now and I’m excited to finally make the jump to the big leagues”.
