WBA-NABA middleweight champion Robert “Bravo” Brant (19-0, 12 KO’s)  is three days away from stepping back into the ring at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, MN. Brant will box veteran Delray Raines (19-12-2, 14 KO’s) of Arkansas in this coming Friday’s main event bout with Brant’s title being on the line.

We last reported that Saint Paul’s Antonio Johnson was ready to box in the co-featured bout but he was forced to pull off the card two weeks ago following a training camp injury. The new MN  state 154 pound champ Johnson suffered a scratch on his eyeball while sparring.

It was announced this week that Irish-Australian super welterweight Dennis Hogan (22-1-1, 7 KO’s) would be filling the vacant spot against Indiana’s Angel Hernandez (17-17, 13 KO’s). Minnesota fans have seen both fighters in action at Hinckley over the years. Hogan fought in a televised bout against Tyrone Brunson last April and Hernandez boxed Minnesota’s Jamal James in 2014.

In perhaps the most intriguing fight, record for record, Duluth’s Markus “Hooch” Morris (7-2, 4 KO’s) squares off against Wisconsin’s Mike Fowler (5-1, 2 KO’s) in a super lightweight match up.  Morris is returning to Hinckley following a stoppage win over Patrick Cape last August.

Another recent update is that Duluth’s Ryan Watson (1-0, 1 KO) will be facing mixed martial artist BJ Lacy (debut) in a cruiserweight bout. Watson and Markus Morris were interviewed by Duluth’s Fox 21 News and you can watch the video by CLICKING HERE.

Always exciting, Uppercut Gym boxer Joe Amouta (4-1) of Minneapolis has taken on skillful Illinois southpaw George Carter Jr. (13-1-1).
Duluth’s RJ “T-Rex” Laase (12-2) is back to face Wisconsin’s Ricky Smith after a year and a half out of the ring. Super welterweight Corey Thompson (1-0) and Wisconsin’s Michael Thunder will box in a battle of undefeated’s. Thompson has relocated to Duluth from Detroit Lakes and is making his return to boxing after competing in MMA recently.  Super featherweight Philip Adyaka (4-6) will take on Dale Bennett (1-1) in a super featherweight bout.
