Minnesota resident and Iowa native Cruse Stewart returned to the ring Saturday night in Iowa, earning a six-round unanimous decision victory over veteran journeyman Armando Reeves of Missouri.

Stewart (now 9-4, 6 KOs), hit the scales officially at 177 pounds Friday night, while Reeves (4-24) came in at 185 pounds. Stewart had planned on weighing in lighter but had the Luxery of putting on a few pounds after learning that Reeves would be heavier on Friday night.

It turned out to be a good stay busy fight for Cruse against a durable boxer in Reeves after Stewart had battled four tough prospects consecutively in his last outings.

Final scores read 60-53 on all scorecards.

Stewart is scheduled to fight again on June 14 at the Mississippi Hall–River Center in Davenport, Iowa.
