Corn drops decision in Iowa

J.J. Corn (43-8-1) of Wisconsin lost a six round battle with James Crawford ( 37-6-2) of Grinnell, Iowa this past friday night at the Polk County Convention Complex in Des Moines, Iowa. Although Corn was shut out on all judges score cards (60-54) it turned out to be the best fight of the night. Both men landed some nice shots while taunting and clowing with each other. The other half of the co-feature had 6’9, 270 heavyweight Tye Fields of Des Moines, Iowa knocking out 7’1, 265 Julius Long at 1:11 of the third round. Fields fought here at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, Mn back in February of this year, defeating Minnesotan Brian Sargent by way of second round ko. 12/07/03
