CLINTON WARREN OF LUCY LANEY BOXING ACADEMY SETS SIGHTS ON JUNIOR OLYMPICS AFTER INJURY FORCES HIM OUT OF NATIONAL OPENS THIS WEEK

21 year old Clinton Warren of Lucy Laney Boxing Academy in Minneapolis was set to compete in the 125 pound elite male division at the 2024 USA Boxing National Open in Albuquerque, N.M. but an elbow injury last weekend in a 3-2 decision non tournament bout victory over Enobong Archibong at Element Boxing Gym has forced him to withdraw from competiton. Warrens coach Morgan McDonald told MN Boxing that the boxer plans to heal up before preparing for the Junior Olympics which take place June 22, 2024 – Jun 29, 2024 in Wichita, KS

The National Open tournament has over 800 registered competitors with Warren to have been the lone Minnesotan set for action. Warren was part of a deep bracket that consisted of 16 boxers. USA Boxing lists Warren with a record of 6 wins and 1 loss record in competition action.

Warren won the 125 pound novice championships at the 2023 UMGG Finals Tournament in Hinckley, MN (pictured below).
