BOXING: WHO’S LOOKIN’ FOR A FIGHT? PATRAW-HOBBS

UPDATE: The fight is on for Jan 25th. Read comments below details.

Featherweight Giezwa Hobbs (now 6-0) had just finished four rounds of boxing with Kendric Latchman of Kansas on November 3rd in Maplewood, MN. It was a hard fought and competitive fight against Latchman (1-10), who’s opponents have a combined record of 57-1-3. As Hobbs discussed the fight with announcer Dan Cole in the ring afterwards, MN State featherweight champion and rival “Bad” Brad Patraw walked by Minnesota Fight News on his way to the ring exclaiming “You better keep those camera’s rolling”! Patraw entered the ring, grabbed he mic and the two rivals traded verbal assaults. After shoving each other, Patraw and Hobbs were finally separated.

Promoter Tony Grygelko went to work almost immediately after the November 3rd Myth show to put the two in the ring. Contracts were written up and sent out. The feud between the two has boiled over on social media for years. Neither fighter held back when Minnesota Fight News contacted each to discuss what happened in the ring between the two and if a fight will be made.

“In my last fight, I boxed well even though I was sick all week for thatgiezwa hobbs fight” said Hobbs. “I still won every round, stuck to the game plan and dealt with a southpaw how I was suppose to. The guy I fought was no push over. He fought all undefeated guys before fighting me. As far as Brad goes, I am going to knock him clean out. Right before I turned pro I put on the internet that I was going to take whoever had the 126 pound featherweight state title first. He decided to write on my post, disrespecting my family, my lady and my son. I’m not God, I don’t forgive or forget those things. I am knocking him clean out.”

“Then when I beat my first opponent in my first pro fight, he retires for a while when I wanted to fight. I was surprised to see him in the ring after my last win.  He has a contract in front of him to sign and he needs to. He can’t back up a check that he can’t cash because I’m going to tax his a**. Usually I’m a guy that’s humble but this fight, I am out for blood. My end is done and I’m ready. Now it’s up to him to sign to fight for January and no excuses. No running in the ring either. I’m going to dismantle every part of him. Physically, mentally and emotionally. After all I want to hear is you are the champ now. He can’t out bid himself because like I said, winner takes all and I’ll put up my purse if he puts up his. I’m knocking him clean out.”

Patraw, who has not fought since 2016, says that a prior engagement will keep him from signing for the proposed January 11th date which is back at the Myth. Patraw said he’d be open to fighting later in the Winter if an opportunity presents itself.

“I sincerely apologize for the shake up and I will have to announce that I will not be able to fight on the January 11th date” said Patraw. “Due to a family event that was already planned, I have full responsibility being a father and my kids come first period. This was all stemming from when Grizalwald had to call me out on Facebook trying to make some stupid history deal but he played with the wrong man. The man had to jump around to a lower weight class because he couldn’t amount to sh*t. His rap career was comical and annoying. Then he tried to make clothing and well you see him dress. That explains everything, f*cking rainbow skinny jeans. I can’t stand him and to clear things up for his two fans saying I’m scared, lets check your facts, Brad Patraw and scared don’t go together. If I see him, I’m going to punch his gap teeth out. I already know he will call the cops on me but that’s OK, I’ll call David Ayers, he will get me off. Epstein didn’t kill himself.”
