BOXING: “SHARP SHOOTER” MUWENDO AND GUAMAN RETURN THIS MONTH

Ismail Muwendo and Vicente Alfaro train in Chicago, Illinois.

Undefeated lightweight Ismail “The Sharp Shooter” Muwendo (18-0, 12 KO’s) of Minneapolis, MN will make his return to the ring on July 21st at the M3 Live Theater in Anaheim, California. Muwendo will face former world ranked contender Efrain Esquivias (17-6-1, 10 KO’s).
Although Muwendo has only fought twice over the past two years, the victories he picked up were impressive against solid prospects. Now, Muwendo is back to face another tough opponent in Esquivias. The lightweight match between Muwendo and Esquivias is scheduled for 8 rounds of action.
Muwendo has been training in Chicago, Illinois at Sam Colonna’s gym along with Minnesotan Vicente Alfaro (see pictures below) in preparation for the fight.

26 year old featherweight Gavino Guaman (5-1) of River Falls, Wisconsin will be fighting a week later (July 29) in Chicago, Illinois in a rematch bout against Josh Hernandez (5-1) of Illinois. Guaman traveled to Illinois on April 28th and knocked out Hernandez in front of his hometown fans. Hernandez obviously sought an immediate rematch and Guaman obliged. Stay tuned for stream or TV info on both of these bouts as they approach.
