A Win for the Minneapolis Boxer Would Put Him a Step Closer to a World Title Fight in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Local boxing action promises to heat up this summer as highly ranked Minneapolis fighter Jamal “Shango” James has announced his next fight is set for Saturday, July 13th at the tradition-rich Minneapolis Armory.

James, who has won 25 of his 26 professional bouts, will fight an opponent to be named on Premier Boxing Champions July 13 card at the downtown Minneapolis venueJames has won five bouts in a row and is unbeaten in his home state. A win would put James a big step closer to his dream of fighting for a world championship and bringing the belt home to Minneapolis. He’s currently ranked No. 3 in the world at welterweight by the World Boxing Association. James’ Circle of Discipline teammates Ve Shawn Owens, Celso Ramirez, and Alexis Gomez are all rumored to be on the show.

The July 13 bout will be James’ fourth at the Armory. His Armory resume includes wins over three tough opponents: Abel Ramos and Mahonri Montes in 2018, and Janer Gonzalez last February

James says he’s geared up for the July 13 card and is ready to put on another electrifying performance for his growing fan base in the Twin Cities and beyond.

“The opportunity is amazing. For me personally, theres no better venue to fight in than the Armory. I’m right at home. I’ve got all my fans, all my family here. The whole city comes and shows support”, James said.

James is not looking past his next opponent, but he’s ready and excited for the fight.

“We’re getting that much closer to this title shot. I’m not overlooking anyone obviously, but I have total confidence that I will be able to do what I’ve got to do get closer and closer to that
world title”, he said.

Tickets for the nationally televised July 13 event, which is promoted by Warriors Boxing and TGB Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at the Armory and through Ticketmaster.

More fights to round out the July 13 card will be announced at a later date. The fights will be
televised nationally by Premier Boxing Champions, on multiple platforms with broadcast partners FS1 and FOX Deportes.
