BOXING: Jamal ‘Shango’ James Announces his Armory Return July 13th

James, who has won 25 of his 26 professional bouts, will fight an opponent to be named on Premier Boxing Champions July 13 card at the downtown Minneapolis venue.  James has won five bouts in a row and is unbeaten in his home state. A win would put James a big step closer to his dream of fighting for a world championship – and bringing the belt home to Minneapolis. He’s currently ranked No. 3 in the world at welterweight by the World Boxing Association. James’ Circle of Discipline teammates Ve Shawn Owens, Celso Ramirez, and Alexis Gomez are all rumored to be on the show.

The July 13 bout will be James’ fourth at the Armory. His Armory resume includes wins over three tough opponents: Abel Ramos and Mahonri Montes in 2018, and Janer Gonzalez last February

James says he’s geared up for the July 13 card and is ready to put on another electrifying performance for his growing fan base in the Twin Cities and beyond.

“The opportunity is amazing. For me personally, theres no better venue to fight in than the Armory. I’m right at home. I’ve got all my fans, all my family here. The whole city comes and shows support”, James said.

James is not looking past his next opponent, but he’s ready and excited for the fight.

“We’re getting that much closer to this title shot. I’m not overlooking anyone obviously, but I have total confidence that I will be able to do what I’ve got to do get closer and closer to that
world title”, he said.
