BOXING: ISMAIL MUWENDO, JAVONTAE STARKS FIGHT UPDATES

The long awaited boxing return for Ismail “The Sharp Shooter” Muwendo (19-0, 12 KO’s) of Saint Paul, Minnesota is set for May 26th in Anaheim, California. Muwendo will face John Vincent Moralde (19-1, 10 KO’s) of the Philippines in an 8-round junior lightweight bout. “The Sharp Shooter” has been out of action for a year and is ready to make the most of a big opportunity.
Muwendo is on his fourth week of a six-week training camp with multi-divisional World champion Terence Crawford, Maurice Blocker, Jamal Herring, and the U.S. National Boxing Team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This will be Muwendo’s first fight following his official signing with Top Rank.

29-year old Javontae Starks (13-2-1, 7 KO’s) of Minneapolis, MN was scheduled to box this past Saturday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin but opponent trouble forced the show to be postponed last week. Although not set, the new date appears to be June 23rd in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Starks is scheduled to face returning, former lightweight Jamie Sandoval of Chicago, Illinois in an 8-round welterweight bout for the vacant World Boxing Foundation International welterweight title.
Starks has signed with Team Certified Sports Boxing of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
