BOXING: CARAWAY LEADS GRAND CASINO SHOW

28 year old Minneapolis welterweight DeLorien Caraway (10-1, 5 KO’s) will headline The Grand Casino Hinckley’s next boxing show on November 11th, 2017. Caraway battles 29 year old Noel Esqueda (7-4-2, 5 KO’s) of Witchita, Kansas in the 8 round main event. The card features local prospects and national up and coming talent.
Caraway has boxed an incredible 8 out of his 11 pro fights at The Grand Casino where he is undefeated.  This past August 25th was an important and solid performance in Hinckley as Caraway avenged his only loss by out-boxing veteran Gilbert Venegas in convincing fashion.

“Man, I’m excited for this fight!” said Caraway. “Eight rounds is pretty big. I know a little about my opponent, I’ve got nothing bad to say about him. He’s tough and durable and seems to like to fight more on the inside. You can expect a great performance though. I’m a straight boxer who can do it all.
He’s basically a tough Mexican fighter that likes putting the pressure on fighters. I’ve seen that a million times. I’ll be 100% prepared. I want to thank the Grand Casino Hinckley for giving me another opportunity to fight there again. I’m very thankful for that!”

Caraway was originally scheduled to box Duluth’s Markus Morris in a super showdown until an injury forced Morris to fall off the show shortly after being announced. There is a strong possibility that we see the Caraway-Morris fight early next year.

Welterweight Ve Shawn Owens (8-0) of Minneapolis, Lightweight Nate Rubin (4-1-1) of Thief River Falls and heavyweight Danyelle Williams (2-0) of Owatonna round out the local boxers being featured. Along side them will be Ramiro Hernandez (9-0) of Cleveland, Ohio, German born Cem Kilic (8-0) of California, and Texas light heavyweight Adrian Taylor (5-0) in featured bouts.
