BOXING: BRANT TO FACE MURATA IN TITLE FIGHT REMATCH

WBA ‘regular’ middleweight champion Robert “Bravo” Brant  (25-1, 17 KO’s) appears to be headed to Japan in July to battle Ryota Murata in a title fight rematch. Brant delivered a one-sided beating to the former Olympic gold medalist in Las Vegas last October. The performance from Brant was so convincing that it’s hard to see the outcome being different this time around for the Brant. Writer Steve Kim says promoter Bob Arum confirmed the fight and that it will be shown live on ESPN+.

Brant, who resides in Texas, successfully defended his title in February at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, MN against Khasan Baysangurov. Murata, on the other hand, has not fought since losing the title to Brant.
