BLACK BEAR CASINO FIGHT WEEK

Pro boxing is set to return to the Black Bear Casino in Carlton, MN this Saturday, June 11th. RJ “T-Rex” Laase of Duluth takes on Wisconsin’s super welterweight champion Benito Tovar in the nights main event. Laase is back after nearly two years out of the ring and says he is ready to return with a bang.  The Duluth based super lightweight Laase took time off for college and also had an opponent fail to make the agreed upon weight for a scheduled bout last April which further delayed Laase’s return.
Also of Duluth,  Al “The Haitian Temptation” Sands is set to box “Dangerous” Damon Reed in a cruiserweight bout. Sands is 8-0 at Black Bear and takes on Reed, who has been in the ring against some serious opposition including recognizable names like James Tony and Hasim Rahman to name a few.

Duluth’s Markus “Hooch” Morris is set to battle North Dakota’s Wayne Martel in a battle of youth versus experience. Cruiserweights Ryan Watson (2-0) and Tommy Ray (3-1) test themselves against each other in a six rounder. Trevor Marmon and Patrick Cape are both looking to return to form in a nice matchup of styles as they meet in a four round lightweight bout. Surging Joe Amouta of Minneapolis takes on undefeated Wisconsin boxer Adam Willis. Duluth’s Winston Anderson will box Aaron Ely of Kansas and Eric Johnson is set to meet Dale Bennett.
More details and words from the fighters to come shortly. In the mean time, check out a radio interview below as RJ Laase, Al Sands and Ryan Watson recently visited Duluth’s 95 KQDS.

Fast Forward to 1:54:00 to hear from Sands, Laase, and Watson.
