Saint Paul, Minnesota’s Phillip Adyaka (7-8, 4 KOs) takes on Featherweight journeyman Rob Diezel (11-7, 4 KOs) in the main event of Pacific Northwest Professional Boxing Promotions’ fourth ‘Brawl at Harmony Hall’ card this Saturday night at the Washington Land Yacht Harbor in Lacey, Washington.

Diezel, of Seattle, Washington, is coming off an assertive fifth round stoppage win over Juan Jaramillo in January, a victory that garnered him a regional title belt and closed out their trilogy at 3-0. In his bout prior to that, Diezel had rebounded from two consecutive losses with a unanimous decision win over Heath Cline last September. The seven-year pro hopes to maintain his newfound momentum with a win over an equally experienced foe.

Originally from Uganda, Adyaka, who turned pro nine years ago going 1-4 in his first five fights, is also on an upswing, winning both of his last two bouts. Last October he broke a two-fight losing streak with a stoppage win over Abdul Noor and, in his most recent fight, he scored a six round decision victory over Samuel Ismael in January.

“I think it’s a great match-up,” said promoter Keith Weir of the headline bout. “Adyaka is a pretty durable guy and he’s coming off two wins. He’s putting in the work and he’s coming to win. He had a 200-plus fight amateur career so he’s got a lot of experience.”

“This is a very important fight for Diezel to win,” Weir continued. “He won that regional title on three weeks’ notice. That was a very good win, a good opportunity, and he went down and took full advantage of it and stopped Jaramillo. Things are looking up for him but he needs to win in order to push his career. I think it’s a great fight for both of them. They both need this win and I think it will make for an exciting match.”

Diezel and Adyaka will meet in a six round bout at 126 lbs. A total of seven bouts will fill out the remainder of the card with a number of young Pacific Northwest prospects looking to showcase their skills.
