Minnesota’s top Light heavyweights “JungleBoy” Zach Walters and “Fabulous” Fred Moore will be in thespotlight at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, MN this Saturday fighting in separate bouts.

Walters, of nearby Duluth, MN will face hard hitting Las Vegas resident Jim Strohl in the 8 round main event.

In his last outing, Walters stopped cruiserweight Ali Supreme (15-8) of Illinois in the second round. In that fight, Supreme looked to bang with Walters straight out of the gate which proved to be a mistake as Walters had little trouble disposing of the bigger man, using Supreme’s aggression against him.

“I anticipated Supreme to be a lot more of a counter puncher, a tentative fighter, but as you know when the bell rang he came right out after me” said Walters. “Realizing that he had bad intentions early on, I looked to nail him with a good shot to back him off so I could box more. When I finally caught Ali half way through the first round I realized that I had hurt him more than I had intended to. He was in serious trouble so I turned up the heat to try and finish him off. I settled into my boxing a bit more in the second round and soon enough, the fight was over.”

That fight should be a good lead up to this fight for Walters as Jim “Steel Chin” Strohl has fought 35 times (only five defeats) most of which have been at heavyweight.

“I have done my home work on Steel Chin” said Walters. “He’s a big guy with a big punch. Most of his KO’s are against fellow heavyweights. I think he is a knockout minded fighter that is banking on catching me with a good shot to end the night. If that is so, I tell him good luck! I have had one of the best training camps ever in preparation for this fight. I’ve never felt stronger, or more ready for a fight. With God beside me I will overcome any obstacle in my way of becoming a world champion. Right now Steel Chin is in my way and I have to deal with him to get where I want to go. The Strohl fight will be a good test for me and a great way to end 2007. I am focused, calm, and confident about this match.”

The co-featured bout pits veteran southpaws Fred Moore of Rochester, MN and Carl Daniels of Missouri against each other in a must win affair.

Moore (30-7, 27 ko’s) looks to bounce back from a fifth round ko loss to former light heavyweight title holder Glen Johnson in July.
Daniels (49-11, 39 ko’s), who held the WBF and USBA titles in his earlier days as a jr. middleweight suffered multiple knockdowns in his loss to prospect Andy Lee in March.
Both experienced fighters are at a cross road in their career and a win could set up another big fight.

The rest of the card is as follows…
6rd Robert Kliewer, Maplewood MN vs Jeffrey Osborne, Davenport Iowa
4rd James Taylor, Minneapolis MN vs. Lucas St Claire, North Dakota
4rd Tim Taggart vs. Shirome Baltcher
