Scott Ball made his professional debut just two weeks ago. Ball won that fight easily via 1st round TKO. He is looking to stay undefeated against Ray Meyers of Minneapolis.
Ray Meyers may have only one win in four fights, but if youve seen him fight, its clear that he has talent. His problem seems to have more to do with endurance than ability. Meyers says he worked on his endurance and that it wont be a problem against Scott Ball.
Both fighters spoke to Minnesota Boxing:
Scott Ball:
This is your only second pro fight, how is it going as a professional?
SB- Its very exciting. I feel a lot more excited about this fight than my first fight. Its exciting to fight better opponents.
Can you describe your fighting style?
Sometimes Im a boxer. Sometimes Im a puncher. I try to box and I work hard.
What do you know about Ray Meyers?
I saw him fight as an amateur, but I dont remember too much about him. Ive heard that he is really slick.
Predictions?
No. I worked hard and well see where that gets me.
Ray Meyers:
Ive seen a few of your fights and it seems like you run out of gas early. What have you been doing to combat that problem?
The energy is pushed up a little, but Im still working on it. Ive got a little boost. I have something up my sleeve.
You usually come out with a lot of energy, what is your game plan?
I try to bring it as much as I can to every fight. I dont want to quit or get knocked out. If I get hit hard, I want to keep going no matter what.
In your knockout losses, it didnt seem like the punches bothered you so much. It seemed like it was fatigue that bothered you more than anything else. What have been doing to avoid the endurance issue?
Ive been running a lot. I run whenever I get out of work. Ive also lost 15 pounds since my last fight. The weight loss and running should give me a boost.
What do you know about Scott Ball?
Ive known him since we were amateurs. Ive wanted to fight him for a long time.
What should we expect to see tomorrow from you?
Something new.
