"Unfinished Business" Weights, Overweight's, Quotes and Skirmishes
By Jesse Kelley

It was a wild afternoon at Seven-The Steakhouse in downtown Minneapolis for the weigh-ins for Saturday's "Unfinished Business" at the Target Center.
Matt Vanda and Tocker Pudwill both made weight without trouble for their 8 round middleweight main event. It turned out to be one of the few fights to go off without a hitch, or laugh however.
In one of the more action filled local pre-fight weigh-ins in recent years, the rest of the day did not go as smoothly as the main event.

Both Wilton Hilario and Allen Litzau made the super featherweight limit. Words were exchanged leading up to each fighters turn to make weight but all hell broke loose after both fighters got off the scales. A dispute erupted about what order the two would enter the ring on Saturday night.
When it was announced Wilton Hilario would be able to choose because his last name came first in the alphabet, the Litzau camp called for a coin flip.
It seemed the fight would start with neither man getting a ring walk as Hilario attempted to lunge in the direction of Litzau. However, team members stepped between both men before things got out of control.

Jason Litzau did his job by coming in a half pound under the contracted weight of 132 pounds. However, it was a different story for his opponent Phillip Payne. Payne originally missed the mark by 9.5 pounds! Litzau rolled his eyes and exclaimed "I'll give him the weight, I'm a warrior, I just want to fight" immediately after Payne got off the scale. Litzau's trainer had other plans though and Payne was told to lose some weight. After returning an hour later, Payne weighed 137 and the fight was on.

Former gym mates Cerresso Fort and Bobby Kliewer both made weight as well. Fort borrowed Kliewers ring name moments after he stepped off the scale telling Kliewer to prepare for "Sweet Dreams" tomorrow night.
Kliewer confirms that the two have trained in the same gym for 7 years and that out of the ring, the two are friends

"Yeah were good friends and still will be after the fight." Said Kliewer. "Even though that probably wont show from the start of the fight until the end. Some people look at this fight as a test for Woo (Fort), but not me. I already know what he can do and I know what I can do. He's strong and in shape, but I'm smart (laughing)! So we'll see where that takes us. All I have for a prediction is that you will not see what you saw in my last three fights."

Jon Laboda made weight on his first attempt however his opponent Patrick Cape needed a little extra effort to shed a half pound after his first attempt. Cape, obviously not shy about being in front of an audience, dropped the last remaining piece of clothing he had and went on to make weight in his birthday suit while only wearing a smile on his face. This was done possibly to the delight of the female members in the audience (I cannot confirm as my eyes were glued to the floor until positive it was ok to look again).

For the nights opening bout, newcomers Zack Schumack (pictured left) and Donny Tierney (right) were both within the jr middleweight limits

Phil Williams will no longer be on the card as his opponent Chance Western weighed in 9 pounds under the contracted weight of 175 (fully clothed). Williams, who was a pound over, was very upset by the fact that his opponent was so much smaller then he was. Williams informed those in attendance that he did not want to fight Western because he felt it would be too much of a mismatch given the size and inexperience of Western.
