Cerresso Fort (2-0, 2 KO's) used a good body attack to stop Fred Thomas (0-8-2) of Davenport, IA at 2:40 of round three.
Fort used his longer reach to keep Thomas just in range as he jabbed and landed right hands in the first. Thomas spent most of the round trying to shorten the distance between the two fighters. Thomas was able to surprise Fort near the end of the round along the ropes as he landed a hard looping right to the chin that momentarily froze the Minnesota fighter.
Fort continued to box and keep Thomas out of range going into round three. Fort also began to turn up the pressure as Thomas seemed to be fading. Fort trapped Thomas in his own corner and fired seven or eight unanswered body shots and referee Mark Nelson stopped the bout.

Jon Laboda (4-0, 3 KO's) won a gruelling four round split decision over Leonard Overstreet (pro debut) of Iowa.
Laboda found himself in a hole early. After Overstreet fell to the ground following an exchange, Laboda fired a hard right to the head. Referee Mark Nelson stepped between both fighters and moments later took two points away from Laboda for hitting Overstreet when he was down.
The rest of the round was intense as Laboda and Overstreet exchanged lightning fast combinations. Laboda landed a big right uppercut and Overstreet a thudding right to the head as the round closed that buckled Labada's knees for a second.
Overstreet was hard to find in the following rounds but he also began to throw less and less punches as Laboda went into seek and destroy mode.
Laboda seemed to be a little winded in the final round after letting his big punches fly for three rounds but fought through it well as he hurt Overstreet with another cracking uppercut. Overstreet stayed composed though, slidding in and out of danger until the bell.
Laboda passed a huge test in defeating Overstreet. Overstreet has spent the last 15 years in prison according to sources but was once regarded as a serious amateur prospect before serving the sentance.

Jeffrey Osborne Jr. ( 5-11-2, 2 KO's) of Davenport, IA returned to the win colum by defeating Courtney Buck (pro debut) of Burnsville, MN at 2:50 of the second round.
Osborne fought in the typical, relentless punching and aggresive fashion that Minnesota boxing fans have become accustom to seeing in his few recent local bouts. Buck was game however as he stood punch for punch with Osborne for the entire fight.
By the later stages of the second round, Osborne's body attack began to take it's toll on Buck. After a number of buck-shots to the body from Osborne, referee Mark Nelson waived the fight off. In the end, Osborne looked sharp and Buck displayed a raw toughness that should secure a spot on any future MN show.

Alex Stringer (0-2-1) of New Richmond and Raphael Magdaleno (1-6-1) of Mnpls battled to an exciting four round draw. Magdaleno picked up the win in the pairs first meeting last March in a bout that was almost identical to this one.
Both fighters took turns winging hard punches with mean intentions as the crowd cheered on throughout the four rounds of action.
