Pro boxing returned
to Mac Daddies Bar in Somerset, WI on Friday night. The 6 bout fight
card was cut to 4 when opponents failed to show up. The card was
saved however as promotor Johnny Johnson entertained fans on the
mic and the fighters entertained the crowd by giving it their all.
In the nights main event, Bobby Kliewer outworked last minute sub
John Turner.
Bobby Kliewer (6-4-2, 2ko's) unanimous decision over John Turner
(3-11)
Bobby Kliewer won a workman like decision over last second replacement
John Turner in the nights main event. Kleiwer picked his spots to
open up on the defence first approach from Turner. Turner opened
up in spots but Kliewer proved to be too elusive to land anything
effective.
Brad Patraw (3-0) KO win at 2:41 of 2nd round over Zach Wolf
(0-1)
Upset minded mma fighter Zach Wolf was quoted as saying he was
going to take Patraw's head off prior to their fight and that is
what he tried to do in the first round. Wolf rushed Patraw with
heavy shots early while Patraw moved and fired back. Both fighters
tested the other guy's chin and neither backed down.
Patraw slowly began to take over with hard upper cuts and straight
rights to the head.
A huge left left hook dropped Wolf early in the second round. Wolf
showed no quit in his first boxing bout as he rose to continue.
Moments later, a upper cut-straight right combo dropped Wolf again
where the bout was stopped as he rose to his feet.
Harley Kilfian (3-1, 2 ko's) KO win at 2:47 of 2nd round over Deon
Henderson (0-1-1, 0ko's)
Deon Henderson had early success against his taller opponent
in the opening round of his bout against fan favorite Harley Kilfian.
Henderson boxed effectively as he moved in and out with stinging
shots while avoiding Kilfian's punches in the first.
Kilfian remained calm and began the second round pressing forward.
Three huge uppercuts rocked Henderson along the ropes where he was
given a standing eight count. Henderson stormed back only to be
dropped with another thudding shot to the head. Henderson bravely
rose and came tried to engage Kilfian once again but referee Jeff
Ness had seen enough and waived the fight off.
Raphael Magdaleno (1-5) UD Alex Stringer (0-2)
Raphael Magdaleno of Minneapolis picked up his first win as
a pro in the nights opener over game Alex Stringer of New Richmond,
WI.
Magdaleno used his longer reach to control the fight on the outside.
Stringer had success when he was able to get inside and brawl. Stringer
was awarded a knockdown in the second round although Magdaleno seemed
more off balance then anything, smiling as he rose to his feet.
Stringer continued to press forward but looked tired by the third
round.
Magdaleno put his punches together as he stepped on the gas in the
final round, rocking a tiring Stringer. Both fighters punched for
much of the four rounds of action but it was Magdaleno that closed
the show and earned the victory.
