Litzau Stops Carrizales in 2!
By Jesse Kelley

Featherweight Allen Litzau of Saint Paul, Mn stopped Tim Carrizales in the second round Friday night at Mack Daddy's Entertainment Emporium in Somerset, Wisconsin. Litzau was simply too quick for Carrizales from the start. A hard left-right combination to the head dropped Carrizales toward the end of the first round. By the second, Carrizales wore a confused look on his face as he tried to figure out a way to get himself into the fight. Midway through the second, Litzau dropped another left-right combination to the head of Carrizales that once again dropped him to his knees. As the referee started his count, Carrizales shook his head saying he didn't want to continue. With the win, Litzau raises his record to (10-1, 6 ko's) while Carrizales drops to (4-7)

In the first bout of the evening, Abdul Kunert (pro debut) won a unanimous decision over Jesus Velasquez (0-7) in a four round battle of Saint Paul featherweights. The first two rounds featured some good exchanges from both fighters. However, The taller Kunert began to wear Velasquez out with his superior boxing skills and hand speed as the fight went on. Velasquez was tough in making it to the final bell but seemed too exhausted to defend himself. Kunert, who looked much more poised at the end, almost had his opponent on the floor but was cut short as the bell sounded to end the fight. All three judges scores read 40-36.

Bobby Cleaver (pro debut) of Saint Paul only needed one punch to knockout Josh Lewis (debut) of Saint Paul. Cleaver, who fell short on his Prince Naseem Hamed ring entrance impression, rushed Lewis straight out of the gate and landed a hard right hand to the head that sent Lewis sagging into the ropes. Cleaver pummeled Lewis with a few more shots before the referee jumped in to stop the onslaught.

Raul Gracia (2-0) won a four round unanimous decision over Seth Hevenstreit (debut) of Nebraska. Hevenstreit looked like he was in over his head at first glance before the fight started as Gracia looked to be in better shape. However, Hevenstreit showed up to fight and made the slicker Gracia work for the entire 4 rounds. Gracia lacked power behind his shots and ran out of gas by the closing round to be able to finish his opponent off. Gracia won by scores of 40-36 on all three scorecards.

40 year old John Turner (3-8) of Minnesota took a four round unanimous decision over Ray Walker (debut). Turner staggered Walker throughout the fight but failed to follow up with anything to try to finish him off. The only knockdown occurred in the first round when Turner landed a counter right to the head that dropped Walker for an eight count just before the bell. Scored read 40-35 on all cards.

Rick Klien (debut) won a split decision over Raphael Magdaleno (0-3) in a good little scrap. Klien looked to be the more technically sound fighter while Magdaleno's success came from his unpredictable haymakers. There was a bit of confusion in the third round worth mentioning. After a big low blow from Madgaleno caught Klien well below the belt, the referee starting giving Klien an eight count as he turned and shrugged from the pain. After Klien showed he was ready to fight on, the ref proceeded to warn Magdaleno for hitting low! It was unclear whether a point was deducted for the low blow or if it was just a stern warning. Either way, something was not right! Two judges favored Klien with scored of 39-37 and 39-38 while the third had Magdaleno up 40-38.
