IBA middleweight champion Anthony “The Bullet” Bonsante (24-3-3, 13 KOs) stayed busy winning an 8 round unanimous decision victory over veteran opponent Reggie Strickland Saturday night at the Sports Cafe in Fridley, MN. Bonsante pressed the action from the start, coming forward leading with the jab and pounding away on the defensive minded Strickland. Strickland rarely fired back and never seemed to want to take his guard down. When Bonsante did find an opening, usually hard shots to the body, Strickland would pose or play to the crowd. The fight followed this same pattern throughout, and by the seventh Bonsante was growing visibly more frustrated by the strategy of Strickland. Neither man was seriously hurt until the end of the eighth when Bonsante got through with a sneaky right hook to the head that dropped Strickland. Strickland rose, but was put on the canvas again by a right uppercut from Bonsante as the bell sounded. All three judges were in agreement, awarding every round to Bonsante.

On the undercard , J.J. Corn (46-7, 24 ko's) also had an easy night, putting veteran Terry Jesmer (16-32-2) down three times in the first round. Corn got things started early landing a straight right that sent Jesmer backwards and to the floor. Moments later Jesmer was sent down again, this time from a right hook to the body. At this point Corn was taking every opportunity to clown and dance every time Jesmer managed to throw back or land anything. Finally another right hook to the body put Jesmer down for good. Referee Mark Nelson counted Jesmer out at 2:12.

Chris Holt(5-1) knocked out John McClaine(0-1) at 2:07 of the second round. McClaine was put down twice, both times in the second.

Brad Laffin(1-0) got off the canvas in the second to win by tko at :52 seconds into the 3rd round over Matt Anderson(0-1).

Marty Lindquist(9-2) won by tko over Toby Tyler(7-6-2) in the first round. Lindquist used a strong body attack, dropping Tyler just before the end of the first round, Tyler wasn't able to continue.

Innocent Otukwu(9-2) took a unanimous decision victory over Marcelo Aravena(6-23). The scores were 40-36, 40-36 and 40-36
