Lots of hard work from promoter and ATT Savage owner Eric Aasen resulted in an exciting amateur boxing show on January 14th in Savage, MN. The main event saw Olympic hopeful Robert Brant win an exciting decision over Jonathan Guyer. Savage boxing coach and match maker Dale Jackson called a featured bout between Dalton Outlaw and Puol Both the fight of the night. Below is a recap of the afternoons bouts in the order they happened by Mr. Jackson

For starters, Andrew Nahn our (120 lbs) 15 yr old went the distance for his first fight with Hector Espinosa from Hastings. Nhan won the 1st round, and it could have went either way in the second. Espinosa came on strong in 3rd however. Judges awarded the decison to Espinosa.

In the second bout of the afternoon, Savage Boxing's Chuck Christen (201 lbs) won a close fight over 17 year old Jordon Gulliani who came all the way from Hayward, WI. Christen had the edge over his opponent for most of the match.

Joe Roers from St. Cloud Boxing came in at 188 lbs to match up with Zach Weis from C.O.D. (Mpls) at 180 lbs. It was a back and forth fight with Zach coming out on top in the end with the decision win.

During intermission we had the pleasure of putting on an exhibition female bout. Luke McDermitt from Opportunity Knocks (Edina) brought Allisa Cohen in at 123 lbs who was supposed to match up with a lady from Lorenzi's Gym in Duluth who was a no show. So we were able to make a sparring session with John Hoffman's female boxer Meri Stewart 138 lbs. It was a good experience for both women.

The fight of the night (maybe the year in MN) was Element Boxing's (St. Paul) Dalton Outlaw (175 lbs) and C.O.D.'s (Mpls) Puol Both (166 lbs.) These guys went three 3 min rounds of non stop action. Outlaw has been out of action for about 5 years, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Puol might have landed more blows but Outlaw landed the harder punches. I hated to see a either go out defeated. The decision went to Dalton Outlaw. The crowd, who didn't have to pay admission, got a sweet deal with that bout.

The Semi Main Event was a good boxing match that saw 17 yr old Justice Pomeroy from Lions Den (Winona) losing a close decison to 16 year old Alexis Gomez from C.O.D. at 145 lbs.

In our Main Event we have to give St. Cloud Boxings Jonathan Guyer at 174 lbs credit for really stepping up to take on former National Champ Robert Brant from C.O.D. I don't believe Brant has been able to get a match in MN for quite a while. They went the distance in a entertaining match.
