VANDA STOPS KILFIAN IN 3

Matt "The Predator" Vanda knocked out Harley Kilfian in round three last Friday, November 11th at the Armory in Saint Paul, MN.
Vanda landed a hard right followed by a left hook to the head that dropped Kilfian for the count :29 seconds into the third round. Kilfian came to bang though as he went down guns blazing. After taking a few minutes to solve the height and reach disadvantage however, Vanda brought the fight to the inside and never took his foot of the gas until the stoppage. Vanda moves to (44-13, 24 KO's) while Kilfian drops to (9-8, 8 KO's).



In other action, Antonio Johnson (8-1, 4 KO's) took apart game Silas Ortley (4-10, 3 KO's), dropping him three times before the end came :25 seconds into the 5th. Johnson controlled every aspect of the bout with speed and hard combinations. Ortley showed the same toughness and desire to win however that he has shown in past fights and should be commended for battling until the end.


Antwan Robertson (8-7-1, 5 KO's) won an 8 round split decision over Brad Patraw (7-4, 4 KO's) to even the fight score at 2 wins apiece. Robertson was defensive minded throughout while loading up with the right hand as he landed fewer punches, but the more telling blows. Patraw showed good composure as he picked his spots to box and brawl nicely, constantly bringing the fight to Robertson while pushing the pace. The difference maker to the judges came in the second round as Robertson landed a sneaky right to the head that dropped Patraw for a quick count near the end of the round. While Robertson celebrated, Patraw was clearly upset at the decision at ringside. Scores read 76-75, 76-75 for Robertson and 77-74 for Patraw


In the opener, Tony Lee (5-1, 2 KO's) took a 5 round unanimous decision over Mike Davis (5-9, 4 KO's). The probable fight of the night between Lee and Davis had the crowd cheering multiple times throughout. Lee dropped Davis in the second round and boxed the rest of the fight behind a stiff jab and hit and move style. Davis showed heart and never quit punching as did Lee until the end.
