HOMECOMING BOUT
FOR LITZAU THIS SATURDAY
"The
American Boy" Jason Litzau (28-3, 21 KO's) returns to action this Saturday
night at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, " I look forward to starting my second career back in Minnesota" said Litzau. " I feel rejuvenated after some time away from the ring and I can't wait to fight again back at home. I expect to fight as many times as possible here this year. My goal is still to win a World Championship and fight for a World Title in Minnesota." The 28 year old Litzau gained contender status following his best wins against Rocky Juarez and Celestino Caballero in 2010. But the HBO televised loss to Broner last year put the breaks on the momentum those wins produced. Now Litzau hopes to start putting the pieces back together against 34 year old journeyman Corey Alarcon (17-18). The bout will be the main event at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis. Litzau's long time trainer Bob Van Syckle says Alarcon was not the first choice for Litzau's return but explained that both Leon Bobo (18-9-1) and Tyrone Harris (24-9) had fallen through and that Alarcon was finalized last week as the late fill in. Litzau, a super featherweight will put on a few pounds to meet the jr. welterweight Alarcon at a catch weight of 138 lbs. Van Syckle says Litzau is hungrier then ever and feels he is ready to return to form and put himself back into position to contend for a title. " Jason knows that he has the skill and dedication to do it" said Van Syckle. "He will never give up until the job is done." The fight card will be co-promoted by RDS Boxing and S.E.G Promotions. Tickets are priced at $30 and $50 with ringside table seating also available. Tickets can be purchased by contacting your favorite fighter. Litzau says if you would like tickets from him, call 651-353-9001. If you don't know one of the fighters visit www.sterlingmn.com. Other bouts on the card are as follows...
