Rodriguez Ready for Moore

Corey “Collateral Damage” Rodriguez (4-1-1) faces Cleveland's Dante Moore (6-0) tomorrow night in a co-featured bout at the Nautica Pavilion Center in Ohio.
Rodriguez weighed in at 152.5 while his opponent Moore was an even 152 at the weigh-ins earlier today. The Jr. Middleweight featured contest is scheduled for six rounds.

In his last bout, Rodriguez fought at a catch weight 158 pounds to challenge Charles Meier. The bout was action packed and saw both fighters visit the canvas. Rodriguez was up on one of the cards following the action as two judges saw it even, resulting in a majority draw.
" I think I controlled most of the fight despite what the judges saw" said Rodriguez. "I didn't relax enough is the big thing. After the successful knockdown the adrenaline was flowing. I wanted to finish off the fight so instead of being patient and setting things up afterwards, I more or less rushed things. I felt that I won four rounds and he got two. I knocked him down and he knocked me down so I don't know how that could be a draw. I have no idea. I felt like I won the rounds and dominated them. They called it a draw. It is what it is and I have to live with it. I did learn a few things from the fight though. I learned that I shouldn't be fighting at that weight and I learned that I need to be more patient.

Aside from training himself for this fight, Rodriguez has been training other fighters at Next Level Combat, a new boxing/mma gym in Woodbury. Rodriguez admits the full schedule has been grueling, but promises to be ready come Friday night.
" I feel great. But I guess I feel a little overworked also though. It's funny, I was unemployed for 7 months there and now I took this fight, got a job at Medtronics, as well as took a job over at the new gym Next Level Combat in Woodbury. On top of that I have been training hard, running 10-12 times a week. I will be able to get some rest after the weigh-ins though and then the following day so I will be rested and ready to go come fight time."

Opposite Rodriguez tomorrow will be the undefeated Moore. Youtube video shows that Moore is a speedy, crafty fighter at the young age of only 20. Yet Rodriguez feels he has been able to spot some weaknesses that he will surely try to exploit when the two meet.
" I got a call about the fight. I did a little research of him and I liked what I saw. He is impressive, there is no doubt about that. But I don't think he has the heart. I can't say technically how I am going to go after him to exploit it but I think he lacks the drive and the experience. Those are some things I am going to try to capitalize on. Speed wise the guy is very fast. Boxing wise, he has great boxing skills but only seems to throw one or two punches at a time. He does have the angles. His defense doesn't seem that great. I just see a lot of weaknesses. The fight was brought to me, I looked him over and liked what I saw. This is the third time we have been matched up to fight and it is finally going down. I am pretty excited about it."
