Allen Litzau (13-4, 7 KO's) will be part of the highly anticipated Pay Per View event between Shane Mosely and Floyd Mayweather this Saturday night in Las Vegas. Litzau recently celebrated his 28th birthday and plans to make it a year to remember by upsetting Golden Boy Promotions undefeated prospect Luis Ramos Jr (14-0, 7 KO's).

Litzau will be stepping up to lightweight to take on the 21 year old southpaw Ramos, who has spent his 14 fights as a pro fighting in the mid 130's. Although Litzau's best performances to date have been at featherweight, he says that fighting at a higher weight should not be a problem. Litzau spoke with Minnesotaboxing.com about the short notice preparations for the fight following a post press conference workout which involved working the pads with Roger Mayweather, who Litzau says will be in his corner for this fight.
"I feel good right now so I don't think the weight will be a big deal" said Litzau, who will be fighting at a catch weight of 137 pounds against Ramos. "Tony Grygelko and Jim Maurine have helped me out a lot to get ready for this fight. So has Jim Glancey, who couldn't make it but is with me in my heart. I think God has a plan for everyone and I am excited for this opportunity."

Litzau told this reporter two days prior to taking this fight a week ago that he was targeting a return as early as June. Litzau stated at the time that there were talks of him facing either Jeremy McLaurin or Hector Orozco. Those fights still may be out there for Litzau, but he says he is fully focussed on the fight with Ramos this Saturday.

"Just like you saw my brother on the Hopkins-Jones undercard take on Rocky Jaurez, you'll see me on Saturday night take on a great opponent in Luis Ramos. We have to give respect to the troops over seas and to all of those who serve and protect this country. I have the American flag tattooed on my left arm 'cause I love America . Me and my brother have hearts of gold, hearts of warriors. Saturday you're going to see a great fight. I've looked up to Mosley and Mayweather all my life and I want to be able to fill their shoes one day."

Allen Litzau versus Luis Ramos Jr. will either be the first or second televised bout for Saturday's potentially gate breaking boxing event. Fightnews.com has reported that Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy announced that there will be two bouts aired for free before the event goes live. One of those bouts will be Litzau's!
