Brunette continues their
long tradition of providing excellent boxing

Brunette
boxing headed by Bobby Brunette, held Region 2 Golden Gloves bouts in
front of a jam packed crowed Saturday 4-1-06. On Sunday 4-2-06, Brunette
hosted a championship bout that was action packed from start to finish.

Here, Brunette waits for the bell to start round two of the championship
bout between Fort and Griffin Sunday 4-2-06
Bout
1 120 lbs -Ian Clover, White Bear Lake vs. Jonathan Perez, Circle of Discipline
Round: 1- Clover starts
strong landing several combos, but Perez keeps to his game plan
and counters Clover's aggression by picking selected shots, and applying
his own aggression. Round one was exciting.
Round 2- Both boxers
come out fast. The crowd is loud as both boxers pick up
their pace, and take turns landing hard shots.
Round 3- Both boxers
continue their aggressive stance moving forward.
Perez lands 2 hard shots that backs Clover to the ropes. Perez lands another
right
which causes the referee to give Clover an 8 count. After the count,
both Clover and Perez continue trading until the final bell.
End result: Perez
wins decisions
Bout 2 125 lbs- Ismail Hoshang White Bare Lake, vs. Craig Butler, Twin
Ports 
Round 1- Ismail is
moving and jabbing while Butler is aggressive and landing the harder blows.
Ismail tires to counter with his own aggression and movement, but Butler
gets the better of the two.
Round 2- Butler comes out aggressively and lands a hard right that buckles
Ismail;
Ismail receives an 8 count; after the count, he tries to fire hard shots
but Butler seems unfazed by them.
Round-3 Butler starts
strong and Ismail tires to counter with his own aggression.
Ismail throws a hard punch that misses; Butler steps back, and throws
a vicious punch
that puts Ismail down on his side. Ismail makes the count, but is dazed
and is hit with several more unanswered shots which causes the referee
to stop the bout.
End result: Referee stops contest Butler wins.
Bout 3 141 lbs Peter Vitale, White Bare Lake vs. Virgilo Velasquez,
4th Street 
Round-1 Both boxers
start strong and trade shots. Vitale is much taller but doesn't take
advantage of his reach and height. Velasquez seems the stronger of the
two, and is applying
pressure. Vitale seems tired, and is fighting to protect himself.
Round-2 Velasquez
keeps the pressure on while Vitale picks his shots and circles.
Vitale looks winded as Velasquez pins him on
the ropes and lands 1-2 combos.
Round-3 Vitale comes
out aggressively and lands several good shots that cause Velasquez to
adjust his head gear. Velasquez takes a deep breath and looks tired. Vitale
continues to
apply pressure but throws sloppy shots.
End result: Vitale
wins decision

Bout 4- 170 lbs
Matt Kamrath vs. Maurice Preston, Brunette gym. 
Round 1- Preston comes
out strong and lands several rights which prompt the referee to give
Kamrath an 8 count. Preston continues his aggressive stance which Kamrath
Can't seem to adjust.
Round-2- Kamrath
comes out strong but so does Preston who throws 3 hard shots
which bloodies Kamrath's nose badly. Preston continues his assault, and
lands another
hard punch which causes the referee to give Kamrath an 8 count. Kamrath
finishes
the round backing up waiting for the bell.
Round-3 Kamrath comes
out throwing 3 wild shots that doesn't connect,
Preston is still the aggressor, and takes a step back and lands a hard
shot
that causes Kamrath to go down. Kamrath beats the count and is taken to
the doctor
due to his bloody nose getting worse. The doctor says the fight can continue,
and Kamrath finishes the round backing up surviving.
End result: Preston
wins decision.

Bout 5 119 lbs Brad Patrow, Rice Street, vs. Jose Ruiz, Brunette gym
Round-1 Both boxers
start strong. Patrow is extremely confident and boxes and moves
with his hands down. Midway through the round, Patrow throws a leaping
uppercut which lands
clean. Ruiz is still moving forward, and lands a solid shot but Patrow
isn't fazed
and continues to box and move landing solid jabs which causes Ruiz's nose
to bleed badly
Round 2 Both boxers
come out in a give and take fashion.
Patrow lands 1-3 combo that causes Ruiz's nose to bleed badly again.
Time is called by the referee Mark Nelson, and the doctor checks Ruiz's
nose.
The doctor says Ruiz's is OK to continue and Patrow finishes the round
moving and
jabbing while Ruiz continues to move forward.
Round-3 Patrow lands
a solid uppercut and gives Ruiz angles and movement. Ruiz can't
Neutralize Patrow's speed but continues to move forward. He's caught with
a good shot 
on the nose which starts to bleed. Ruiz still puts on the pressue when
both fighters clinch.
On the break, Patrow hits Ruiz on the back of the head which
angers Ruiz as the bell sounds.
Round-4 Patrow moves in and out and circles a tired and bloodied Ruiz.
Patrow lands 2 hard shots to the head
of Ruiz, which causes referee Mark Nelson to give Ruiz an 8 count. After
the count, Patrow poses, while trying to find the
perfect punch. Ruiz lands a hard right on the ropes that doesn't bother
Patrow. Patrow moves forward and throws
several hard shots which causes Ruiz to cover up at which point referee
Nelson stops the bout. Ruiz's family and
Conner men are angry feeling Nelson stopped the bout too soon.
End result: Referee stops contest in 4th
Patrow wins.
Bout 6 165 lbs, Cerreso Fort, Rice Street, v. Richard Kern 4th street
Round 1- Both boxers
come out throwing solid jabs. Fort lands 3 hard shots and is
the aggressor while Kern tries to counter. Fort's jab and aggression appears
too much for
Kern in this round.
Round-2 Kern throws a nice right but Fort isn't bothered by it. Both fighters
look for the opening
and trade shots. Both attempt to land hard rights at the same time but
miss
and get tangled on the ropes and fall. Towards the end of the round Fort
spins Kern and lands
two hard shots to the back of Kern's head. Kern protests by turning his
body sideways
and is hit with another hard punch as the bell sounds.
Round-3 Both boxers
come out aggressively and land hard shots. Kern throws a
Hard right but Fort comes forward. Fort throws several solid jabs
and 5 combos that backs Kern to the ropes. Kern looks
tired as the round ends.
Round-4 Fort throws three hard body shots and pins Kern to the ropes.
Fort is the aggressor
and Kern looks tired. Kern moves to the middle ropes and is hit with 3
shots
which causes him to drop his hands to his sides and slightly slumps on
the ropes.
He's given an 8 count, and somehow beats the count. Fort jumps on him,
and lands a hard punch
Which causes the referee to jump in just as the round ends.
End result: Fort
wins decision.

Bout 7 Super Heavey
Weights 
Mike Hamilton CaCross, WI vs.Delano Henton, Brunette boxing.
Round 1,2,3,4 were
similar as Henton landed power shots
Jabs, and 1-2 combos on Hamilton who slapped
his gloves together in frustration as he couldn't deal with
Henton's ring generalship.
End result- Henton wins decision.

Sunday 4-2-06 Brunette
host one championship bout that provides excitement.
In front of close friends and family members, Cerreso Fort coming off
of 
his impressive win Saturday 4-1-06, fought Justin Griffin a skilled boxer
Round 1- Both boxers
come out trading hard shots. Fort lands 2 hard body shots and Griffin
counters with 2 solid rights that make Fort go on the defensive. Fort
looks tired and gets a warring from referee Bobby Brunette for slapping
with his punches. Towards the end of the round, Fort finds energy and
hits Griffin with a hard punch that causes Griffin to hold.
Round 2- Both boxers
come out aggressively. Fort lands 3 hard jabs and an upper cut. Fort lands
a hard body punch and right hands combos, but Griffin takes them well
and is applying pressure on a tired Fort. Griffin receives a bloody nose
but is still trading shots with Fort
Round 3- Griffin is
the aggressor and lands 3 solid jabs. Fort counters with his own jab which
snaps Griffin's head back twice. Fort continues to throw big shots but
is warred again for slapping. Fort hits Griffin with a solid right/left
combos which causes Griffin to hang on towards the end of the round.
Round-4 Both boxers
come with a fast pace. Fort throws 4 hard jabs and works the body of Griffin.
Griffin is countering with hard punches as well. Fort throws a right/left
combo, but loses a point for slapping. After the point deduction, Fort
continues to apply pressure landing hard punches that causes Griffin to
back to the ropes several times. Griffin adjusts, and both boxers provide
non-stop action to end the round.
End result: Fort
wins decision
