Circle of Discipline host Region I Golden Gloves Tournament March 25th & 26th

Circle of Discipline hosted region 1 city Golden Gloves semi-finals bouts in front of a lively crowd. Special boxing announcer was Walter "Q Bear" Banks from KMOJ radio.

Bout 92 lbs
Hardwell Ismial Vs. Andrew Metheny

Rd-1,2,3 were similar with Ismial being
the aggressor and using his jab for most of the fight and scored a standing 8 count in Rd 1 End result: Ismail wins decision.

100 lbs
RJ Bearnose, Circle of Discipline vs. Justice Love, Westside boxing

Rd 1- Bearnose comes out aggressively and attacks Love. Love circles and remains disciplined throwing jabs and several pinpoint right hands to keep Bearnose at bay.
Rd-2 Love comes out aggressively and lands several hard shots that back Bearnose to the ropes. Love throws a solid left that causes the referee to give Bearnose an 8 count. Love throws another right that seems to buzz Bearnose at the end of the Rd.
Rd-3 Love comes out strong and shows fast hands landing several more hard shots which cause Bearnose to receive another 8 count. Rd 3 ends with Love being the aggressor and Bearnose backing up.
End result: Love wins decision

Genghis Muskox, Circle of Discipline vs. Chris Dixon, Westside boxing

Bout is declared a "walk out" when Dixon for unknown reasons, refused to fight.
End result: Muskox won by default.

Matthew Carlson UMAIC vs. Leroy Walters, CF

Rd-1 Both fighters take turns being the aggressor. Carlson throws 3 solid jabs that back Walters up towards the end of the Rd.
Rd-2 Carlson comes out the aggressor and throws 2 solid left hooks but Walter's counters with a hard right hand that backs Carlson up towards the end of the Rd.
Rd-3 Both fighters come out towards each other and are landing hard shots in a give and take Rd.
End result: Carlson wins a decision.

Stephen Omae, Circle of Discipline vs. Ken Evans, ACR

Rd-1 Both fighters come out aggressively and land hard shots then clinch. Referee Mark Nelson breaks the fighters; Omae lands a thunderous right hand that dazes Evans. Evans receives an 8 count. Nelson asks Evans if he's "OK" no response Nelson stops the contest.
End result: Omae wins Rd 1.

Aurelia Snow, Circle of Discipline vs. Rachel Schley, Uppercut gym

Rd-1 Both fighters feel each other out. Schley lands 3 solid shots and wins an uneventful Rd.
Rd-2 Schley comes out the aggressor, and lands several solid jabs. Snow attempts to counter but is not effective.
Rd-3 Snow comes out aggressively which excites the fans. Snow lands the harder shots while Schley tries to counter.
End result: Schley wins decision

Derek Winston, Circle of Discipline vs. Mike Haulbrich, ACR

Rd-1 Both fighters come out trading shots at a fast pace. Winston is warned for hitting on the break. Winston seems to have more speed and starts to use combos to keep Haulbrich on the defensive. Haulbrich is able to land 3 hard body shots, butWinston fires back hitting Haulbrich with hard shots which send Haulbrich down. Haulbrich makes the count but is in survival mode.
Rd-2 Winston comes out strong and lands a crashing right hand that sends Haulbrich down. Haulbrich makes the count but the bout is stopped as Haulbrich cannot continue. .
End result: Winston wins Rd 2.

Leif Carlson, UMAIC vs. Cory Rodriguez, Uppercut

Rd-1 both fighters come out fast landing solid shots. Each backs the other to the ropes in a close Rd.
Rd-2 Rodriguez comes out the aggressor lading several jabs and right hands. Carlson counters with two jabs. Both fighters are moving forward landing hard punches.
Rd-3 Both fighters appear tired and clinch several times. Rodriguez picks up the pace, and is the aggressor, but Carlson moves forward and pins Rodriguez to the ropes where Rodriguez hurts his left arm. Rodriguez receives an 8 count and is able to continue by fighting the rest of the Rd circling and jabbing.
End result: Cory Rodriguez wins decision

Charles Meier, Circles of Discipline vs. Jon Schmidt ACR

Rd-1 Schmidt comes out aggressively. Meier seems to have problems adjusting to the pressure. Schmidts keeps the pressure on, and Meier circles trying to adjust to Schmidt's aggression but seems to have problems.
Rd-2 Meier starts the Rd aggressively and throws a hard uppercut. He seems to figure out Schmidt's style, and jabs and circles and lands effective punches.
Rd-3 Meier comes out aggressively and lands 3 hard rights that back Schmidt to the ropes. The crowed is loud and encourages Meier to put the pressure on. Meier steps up the pace, and hurts Schmidt with a solid right at the end of the Rd.
End result: Meier wins decision.

Isaiah Lotti, Circle of Discipline vs. Caleb Truax, ACR

Rd-1 Truax comes out aggressively and Lotti has problems adjusting. Truax continues his aggressive stance but leaves himself open, and is hit with several good shots that stun him. Referee gives Truax an 8 count. Loti throws furry of punches to end the Rd.
Rd-2 Lotti looks winded before the bell starts. Truax comes out aggressive and has Lotti in a defensive mode. Lotti lands several shots which appear to have little on them. Truax pins Lotti to the ropes, and works the body and head.
Rd-3 Lotti comes out aggressively and the crowd cheers loudly for him. But Truax counters Lotti's aggression with his own aggression, and lands a hard right to the head of Lotti at the end of the Rd.
End result: Truax wins a decision.

James Taylor, UMAIC vs. Jacob Walters, Horton

Rd 1 Walters comes out strong. Taylor seems confused, and is fights defensively. Taylor lands a telegraph uppercut that gets Walters' attention, but he continues to move forward.
Rd-2 Taylor comes out moving and jabbing, and lands an uppercut that staggers Walters. Walters receives an 8 count. Walters comes out aggressively after the count, and is hurt again by another uppercut that lands him flat on his back. Walters beats the count, and Taylor is cautioned for pushing before landing the uppercut. Walters is on the defensive trying to survive the Rd
Rd-3
Between the Rd, the doctor and referee Meizwa check to see if Walters is OK. Walters comes out aggressive but can't adjust to Taylor's uppercuts. Walters is caught again with another uppercut and is staggered. Walters receives another 8 count. Taylor jumps on Walters and throws another uppercut which causes Walters to cover up. Walters appear to have difficulty protecting himself which causes the referee to stop the bout.
End Result: Taylor wins in 3rd Rd.
