BUTLER LOOKS TO EVEN SCORE WITH PATROW
By Jesse Kelley
When C.J. Butler and Brad Paltrow met in September at the
Brunette's boxing gym, they gave fans a fight that really didn't need
a winner announced. This Saturday the two featherweights will step into
the ring once again with the tough task of trying to match their first
meeting. Butler took the time to answer a few questions about his last
bout and his rematch with Patrow. Here is what the Twin Ports fighter
had to say..
You just had a big win against Jose Hilario in Saint Cloud this past
weekend. Can talk about that fight?
My fight last weekend was really hard because Jose hit soo hard. I tried
to stay on the outside of him because he threw such hard body shots. It
was an action packed fight and I think I had the upper hand in the fight.
He kept coming and throwing harder so I had to get him in the corner and
throw lots of punches. By the end, my ribs really hurt but I was glad
I won by outpunching him.
You will be facing Brad Patrow for the second time this Saturday. How
would you describe Patrow as an opponent?
Patrow is a very good boxer. He has good movement and is very fast.
He is a pucher and is always in your face.
The last time the two of you met, you lost a decision. Can you describe
that fight to the fans who didn't see it?
I think the last time we fought we really put a show on so it was probably
really hard to judge. I kept him in the corner a lot and I think it helped.
I think I could have been in better shape but I will be this time.
Looking back, how do you think you performed that night and what is
your plan for the rematch?
I thought my performance was good considering how good he is but I think
if I tried harder I could've beat him. I was kinda sloppy too but I made
up for it. I think this will be a sweet fight this time too.
In closing, what are your plans for the future?
Im gonna be in any tournaments coming up that I can and hopefully will
be fighting alot of tough guys like Patrow and Hilario.
